Day 5

Our only scheduled stop of the week: the Heliport. Checked out some street dancing just before-hand, turned up over an hour early but no problems, they just shuffled us onto the next available flight. Fifteen minutes of awesome and just a few seconds of abject terror. Bargain. The rest of the day we indulged ourselves in a bit of shopping on 5th, and chilled out completely in the evening to give our feet the rest they so desperately craved.

Day 6

Central Park again (it never gets old), then a hike through the Natural History Museum. The place is bloody huge! Pretty much the entire day gone before we knew it. A couple of hours to chillax then a late dinner at Ellen's Stardust Diner. Ever had your food served by singing waiters? Keeps things interesting!

Day 7

Our first and likely only slightly frustrating day. Trekked up to the Upper East Side for the Witney Museum of American Art so that Jo could enjoy one of her inspirations Georgia O'Keefe, only to find that the display was "closed for renovation". Nothing else of interest so we ditched the Witney and brought the Gugenheim forward a day. Second disappointment: the spiral rotunda was "closed in preparation for the Picasso display". Still, plenty of awesome to see on floor 1 including some truly magnificent Van Gogh, Picasso, Pizzarro, and Cezanne. Amazing. Then a hike south through the Park only to find the Tavern on the Green was, you guessed it, "closed for renovation". Not to worry, we ended up at the Brooklyn Diner off Broadway where Jo consumed what looked like an entire Maine lobster in a bun. Multiple yummy noises and the suggestion of being stuffed to the face signalled approval.

Day 4

So today we saw the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the World Trade Centre, Battery Park and dinner in Chinatown no wonder Neil's already snoring behind me. Enjoy the new photo's more tomorrow.

Day 3

We've walked our feet off despite wearing his walking boots Neil already has a blister. We did MOMA and the Empire State and a little shopping in Saks 5th Ave I saw a stunner of a dress just need an excuse to buy it really.

MOMA was fabulous we even skipped a floor or two because we wanted to get to the Monet's and Picasso's which were stunning.

Day 2 (and a half)

Day 2 (and a half)

Well New York the city that never sleeps I feel like it's been a bit like that today from 5.30 UK time to 8pm New York time seems to be about as far as I'm gonna make it. Seven hours of flight followed by about an hour in a taxi in New York traffic brought us to our home for the week. We took a small stroll around the local vicinity for dinner and to try to stay awake a little longer but we're pretty much done in. Good night y'all more tomorrow.

Day 1

Our epic journey begins with a tale of good fortune and grace. We were carried to our locomotive by a charming lady in her mini carriage; we were most delighted and thrilled by her assistance.

On arrival at the train station a struggle with stairs greeted us but exuberance pushed us forwards. On board the train, time passed quickly and seats continued to fill as we neared our destination.

London! We had arrived, as the bear from Peru once did, at Paddington, from there we were conveyed to our hostelry by underground carriages of varying cleanliness. Once again we emerged into daylight, planes
passing overhead with alarming frequency.
